International skole

Both our children have attended Bjørn's International School (B-I-S) since 1st grade, and I have always been happy and impressed with the school. We originally chose B-I-S because the school was recommended to us, and because of the affordable tuition fees. What we also found was a school that has the size (relatively small) and philosophy to truly leverage diversity across cultures, ethnicities and (for the children) age groups. A school that can produce well functioning and truly academically strong young adults. I want to emphasize three specific features, that I think make the difference for B-I-S:1) the faculty diversity and expertise - very good teachers (some brilliant) that share a common value set towards teaching and are very engaged2) the size of the school and class/year size - both principal and teachers know your child personally and can take care of his or her needs3) a principal that lives the vision of the school and always promotes a mindset of diversity and inclusion with students, parents and facultyOur eldest child is now graduating from B-I-S, and I could not have wished for a better place for him to grow and be formed as an individual. As an alternative to larger and more institutional schools, I give B-I-S my warmest recommendations.

We've been very happy at this school! We switched our 3 kids from another (much more expensive) international school in the area and were happy to discover that we preferred this school even though the price is so much less! The teachers have been great and the administration is very responsive to any issue that arises. ISH has a new Learning Support department that has been super helpful with my son who has dyslexia also.

The school facilities and teacher are great, hence the three stars. However, the feelings of individual children are disregarded. Our youngest son got accepted in February 2022 and our oldest son did not with the message that he would be among the first to be offered a place which we told our oldest son. Later in August 2022 we were then informed that he could not expect any space for the subsequent year either even though he has a sibling at the school because he was not international and would not be given any priority" - despite the fact that he is international (speaks fluent English

Jeg kan uden at tøve sige, at jeg gennemlevede det bedste år i mit liv da jeg gik på denne efterskole. Fantastiske elever, lærer og personale. Maden var altid i top, og der var aldrig noget at beklage sig over. This is the worst school I have ever worked with I'm divorced with a child who was diagnosed with autism at a young age who wasn't receiving proper help from teachers. I payed extra money for extra support and for the after school program I was disappointed with the outcome. Overall the school provided a horrible environment for my child, they are very money focused the extra support was almost equal to the actual education, and now I have no choice but to get a psychologist to help him with his mental health.

I am from Ukraine, I am with my daughter was running from Russian agression to Denmark. I Ve got information about International school of Hellerup from the Red Cross. They invited ukrainian children for social activity.We came there, and we were welcomed as much as it can be imagine! We both fell in love with this magic place and wonderful, careful people, who work there! Since my daughter speaks English fluently, she felt really comfortable among children. They also were very welcome to her. And we have seen pictures and handmade things on Ukrainian style, it was so sensitive!When we came to the ISH we felt like we were home. It isVery important for us, leaving our houses. I am so thankful for the administration, teachers, volunteers for all help and giving us the chance to see what a study should be!
