The idea of ​​teaching people IT skills like programming in a vocational sense is really good, but the quality of the teaching is very low. Regardless of age, you are treated like a child, which means that there is mandatory attendance even though the education is mostly independent. I attended the web developer program, and there wasn't a single person under 18. Instead of being a good and engaging teacher who wants their students to succeed, you encounter disinterested teachers who cannot motivate their students, which means that students end up not showing up or simply lose interest. The way my teacher did it was to try to motivate their students with sanctions about being kicked out if they did not adhere to their attendance requirement.Furthermore, there were also a lot of students who had merit in irrelevant subjects such as Danish, which had no relevance to the education. Because of the attendance requirement, those with merit still had to show up but were not allowed to progress, which meant that the students just sat and stared all day long. This naturally destroys motivation. I attended the web development education, where it was clear that the teachers did not quite have a grasp on the framework of the education, and that you felt experimented with in that regard. There are much better teaching materials available online for free. The teaching is defined based on the lowest common denominator, and one completely neglects capable and engaged students to the point where you simply lose the desire and interest in IT/programming. This education has taken a toll on me psychologically.
