Murdoch's is a brasserie attached to the Phoenix Hotel. We were looking for a quick dinner and didn't want to go for one of the tourist traps in Nyhaeven. So we stumbled into Murdoch's. It was a Sunday night and it was pretty quiet, which is always a worry as most of the restaurants in the neighbourhood were fully booked (we tried a couple).The interior looked quite old, so we didn't know what to expect.The menu was simple - not too much choice - which is always a good thing.Well - we weren't disappointed. The service was very good, very friendly and very efficient.When our dinner arrived, all doubts went out of the window. It tasted delicious. We are travelling with kids and they were also very happy.Nobody knows why this place was so quiet. Was it because it was a Sunday night? It can't be because of the level of service and because of the quality of the food.Both were simply excellent. I would definitely go again.

I just got chance to dine here as I was too tired from day trip and travelling. I didn’t expect much as it’s a place inside the hotel but surprisingly good. The steak that I ordered was big portion and taste well. They cooked exactly what I ordered. The cocktails was fine but I find it’s not strong enough for me. The price in the menu is quite pricey but understandable as it’s a hotel price. The staff here is polite and friendly.
