I was considering to apply for accommodation at BDTU, but I changed my mind after I asked some fellow students who used to live there. Apparently, when they tried to submit a complaint to the landlord about fixing stuff in their apartment, they were threatened with legal action (!). Also, they were charged extra money when they moved out, losing a good chunk of their deposit. It is hard to believe this student dorm is officially affiliated with DTU. Be very very careful if you try to apply, you have been warned ;(

Extremely shameful to have something like this in Denmark. Exploiting their monopoly on accomodation to an extent, this company is a real maffia. A lot of rooms randomly don't have freezer, they solve maintenance issues by calling you stupid for wanting light in your room (there is even a socket for it, they just didnt care to install) and closing the conversation. Lot of rats around, their solution is to encourage tenants not to dispose food in the trash (I should eat the rotten stuff and bones I guess, there is no dedicated place for meal waste). Grass reaches your stomach around the building? they dont care. little scratch on the wall? that will be 100€ from deposit. DUST anywhere? that's also 100€...but then they dont bother to clean it. The only employee who was tasked with opening the doors if you lock yourself out outside weekday working hours left for 2 months vacation...overpriced washing machine and dryer (monopoly again)...shameful...this is the textbook example of giving up our rights seemengly willingly when we don't have a choice.

They stole my depositum and forced me to pay for rent even though I moved out 2 months earlier. I contacted them about the problem via mail, and got an answer that I should wait until the contract ended even though it had. Now one month later I sent them a mail regarding my depositum withouth any response back. They simply steal money in any way possible since it is a lot of exhange students living here

Absolut horribel behandling af internationale studerende. Lever ikke op til deres ansvar som udlejere og giver desværre mange studerende et dårligt indblik i Danmark. Undgå hvis du du kan.

Please, do not consider getting your student accommodation through BDTU. They are exceptionally rude and unaccommodating to any and all student needs. Especially don't take Ballerup Studio, as it is at least 90 minutes from Lyngby by bus, which is not as advertised.

I had the unfortunate experience of living in one of these accommodations for 1 year and a half. The rent was extortionate, and I’m gladly living now in a better area, with both a bigger room and a much lower price. They took several months to return the portion of the deposit I was due to get back, and it took them over a year to return the utilities payment, which is pretty ridiculous, and I paid 518kr in my last half month of living there (7 days in the actual room, as there is a 7 day prior move out required), because “the meters were not all intact”

the epitome of bad service. If one is present during their room inspection everything is good, if they are not they are charged for various reasons so as one may expect some cleaning is going to take to take place as the departing tenant was charged for it. Little one could know this cleaning never happens and usually the new tenant has to clean while the old tenant has been charged. This among many other incedents sets a non helpful attitude.

Avoid at all costs!!!!! Worst experience about Denmark!!!!! I regret staying here with all my heart. DTU is amazing, this is absolutely a rip off and a waste of energy and money. DTU should stop recommending this scam. I got kicked out of the room for a reparation and charged 33% of the deposit for things I had pictures for.

The worst accommodation I have ever lived. Paying nearly 6000dkk per month, with broken furnitures and numerous cons. Would brutally break into your room to change the mattress even you told them you have refused as you were not at the room that day (meanwhile they could even have done this before checking in). A place to trick DTU international students onto paying unreasonably expensive rent. We even need to pay 2-month deposit before living, so that they can exploit more when you are moving out from your room. In my case, they deduced 400dkk from my deposit just because there were tiny dust at the corner of my room and they said they had to HIRE someone to clean there specifically (I hope those people are world-class professionals).I am giving this one star just because there is no choice for zero star, very merciful.

AWFUL EXPERIENCE!!! I had a room with them. They did not extend it and sent me a new contract just 2 rooms away from the old one! Strange, right? The impact on me? They increased the rent more than they were allowed to increase if they had extended. And they asked me to leave 2 weeks between the contracts and stay in a hotel while I was still their tenant and paid for the whole month.
