Xilonen - House of Corn

Delicious BLUE CORN! The tortillas are really good. Good explanations of the different dishes served inside or on top of the different blue corn creations. My favorite was the birria.

Excellent service, the food is the authentic mexican flavour and everything is made from scratch and fresh ingredients. You can also find a variety of craft mexican beer and nice tequila. This is the mexican place to go in CPH.

Xilonen is a hidden gem in Copenhagen. Stairs down from the street to a 5-top you’d barely notice if not for the colorful frame around the door and window.The food is authentic and AMAZING. Every part of our meal was unforgettable - the blue corn tortillas, the lamb barbacoa, the empanadas, the tray of sauces and pickled onions - we were even lucky enough to stop by on a night where tamales were on special. The tasty imported Mexican beer sent it over the top.The owners are so gracious, coming around to check on the food (happily speaking Spanish if you’re able) and serving Mexican hot chocolate to people waiting outside for a table. It pays to get here early.

Really lovely restaurant. We had wonderful authentic food and our hosts/chefs we're so kind. They brought us incredible, spicy and savory food and took our likes into account. Cheers Xilonen! I hope to travel back to you soon!

Absolutely fantastic! Tacos were delicious. High quality food, Mexican beverages, and good service. Restaurant is small and cozy. Owner came and explained what each type of dish is about, very helpful. Affordable prices. I definitely recommend if you want to try out Mexican food

As always since I try a new “Mexican restaurant” outside Mexico, I was exceptic and getting prepared for super liquid, vinegar based chili salsas in a bottle with artificial colors and spoiling the food since they just burn without adding any flavour,However, my friends and I were positively surprised, and actually moved with the experience. Aromas and flavors from our Childhood, cozy and funny situations with the Mexican staff (they just opened in November), fresh tortillas that don’t break, and the best mixiotes, birria and huitlacoche that I have eaten in ages, so far away from all that so called Mexican restaurants that wouldn't even be able to pronounce dishes in Xilonen’s menu :-D!Thank you for bringing Mexican food, Mexican craft beer and refrescos (with real fruit, so you have to shake them!) to Denmark, Xilonen! I already have told everyone loving Mexican food to pay you a visit, and I hope you don’t get tired of me because I will certainly become dedicated customer.

Very tasty Mexican food, we had tacos and tostadas made from blue corn with the guisos cochinita pibil, birria, huitlacoche and mixiote. All were delicious with an authentic Mexican taste. I personally loved the pibil and the salsas. The restaurant did a very good job giving history of Mexican food! Great experiences, hope to go back soon.Ohh and really good beer as well.

Genue Mexican food, extremely tasty and good.The place is cozy with good atmosphere and the employees are service oriented with natural smiles.My new favourite restaurant in Copenhagen❤.

My friends and I, stumbled into this place. We were nervous at first, but it turned out to be amazing. Food was great and authentic, while the staff was awesome. Our waitress and had a great sense of humor.We had an assortment of dishes, and each was delicious. I had the “Birria dish” of the menu, which included fresh homemade blue corn tortillas... It’s was really good and fulfilling, even the sodas are made with real fruit!While the entire dinning area was a little smaller, and it was not a “white table cloth” style restaurant, it was very authentic and good. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for authentic Mexican Food.

Great true authentic Mexican long-cooked street food. Great selection of beverages as well, kind staff - and propably the only restaurant in DK with the chance of listening to El Tri while eating!
